The last article, we introduced the Sensitization and the Rate of Infiltration of sanitary napkin. And in
this article, we are going to introduce the Absorbing Capacity and Back Permeability on choosing
better sanitary napkin.
(1) Absorbing Capacity: the more the sanitary napkin absorb liquid, the better.
Absorbing Capacity depends on SAP and fiber. As is known to all, SAP is mainly produced from America,
Korea, Japan and Singapore. The major manufacturer of Japan and Singapore is Sumitomo Seika. Their
product, SAP has the strongest absorbing capacity, the second and third are America and Korea. The
stronger the absorbing capacity, the sanitary napkin can be produced thinner.
(2) Back Permeability: the lower the back permeability, the better.
Whether the SAP can tightly lock liquid after it absorbed? Under certain extrusion, the liquid may reverse
osmosis. Sanitary napkin with higher back permeability may make you uncomfortable, so we should choose
those sanitary napkin with low back permeability. A natural proportion between SAP and fiber will lower the
back permeability. However, how to test the back permeability of sanitary napkin?
Test method: pour a few saline into sanitary napkin, then put on a piece of filter paper and pressure it.
You can find its reverse osmosis through how much the filter paper has absorbed.
