How often to change the diapers?

   Baby diapers have good ventilation and high absorption and not easy to cause the rash, 

which is convenient to moms. But unfortunately, most disposable baby diapers use plastic 

film as an external impermeable layer which greatly limiting its breathability. If diapers stay 

for a long time, there may be cause the rash and dermatitis. Therefore, the diapers should 

be changed frequently so that comforts baby and avoid diseases.

   So how often should we change the diapers?

   During neonatal period, the baby’s bladder is not fully developed and can not store urinate 

for a long time, so the diapers should be changed frequently. Generally, changing the diaper 

even up to ten times within 24 hours. Before and after each feeding, sleepy, the diapers 

should be changed.

  During infancy, the diaper is changed every three hours during the day. When the baby 

is bigger, the diaper could be changed every four-six hours and just once or twice for a night.

 Some advices given to moms:

(1) When changing diapers, hands should be dry and clean. It’s better to apply some diaper 

ointment in the lips before wearing new diapers so as to prevent moisture.

(2)Do not pack too tightly when changing diapers,otherwise it would cause red buttocks,dermatitis 

and other diseases.
